What is Family Connexions?

Family Connexions is a web script designed to act as a central point of contact for your family members. Uploading the script to your webspace will give your family a dedicated contact site.

Is it a family tree?

Not quite. A family tree records your families history and shows the relationship between your family members. Whilst Family Connexions will function similarly to a family tree, it is for living family members and will allow each member of the family to display their contact details. Other family members can have instant access to those details and can contact other members directly.

What can my members expect from my Family Connexions web site?

A central repository for all your families contact info, a profile for each family member, private messaging between members, family forums, view members as a tree or group complete with photos, members individual photo gallery, members file storage and sharing, reminders for birthdays and anniversaries etc, a family event calendar, family anecdotes, private or public member diaries, family story, family chat room, family announcements, members diary and appointment scheduler, family statistics and much, much more...

Welcome to the official home of Family Connexions!

This site is the home of Family Connexions. A web script written in PHP that will allow you to maintain your own living tree of family members. We are all busy with our own lives these days and, although we know we should keep in contact with our family, it's sometimes easier said than done. Designed primarily as a contact site for your family members, Family Connexions allows all your family to make and keep instant and ongoing contact with each other wherever they might be in the world.

More than that though, it's a place where your family can chat to each other in real time, send private messages and email, share pictures and files, keep journals or diaries, post in the forums, share the latest family news, view family contact details, profiles and pictures, reminisce and share memories or even schedule their lives. In short it provides a way for a full and complete exchange between your family members.

To see what Family Connexions is capable of and how you might use it, why not try the demo? You can log in as site admin, test drive the admin panel and get a good idea of just how well Family Connexions could work for your family. To log in to the site use the username and password of demo - demo, this will log you in as an admin. You can play around with the demo site and change anything you like and, although there are some small limitations in place for security reasons, you can perform 98% of the admin functions. What do I need to run Family Connexions?

The requirements for running Family Connexions are very straightforward. All you need is some web space that will run PHP, a single MySql database and the ability to change some permissions (chmod).

How do I set up family Connexions?

Setting up is a breeze with the inbuilt installer. The installer will do all the work for you and it is fully automated. If you're not too sure about setting up, I am so confident that you won't have a problem that, if you do, I'll set it up for free on your behalf!
