What is Family Connexions?

Family Connexions is a web script designed to act as a central point of contact for your family members. Uploading the script to your webspace will give your family a dedicated contact site.

Is it a family tree?

Not quite. A family tree records your families history and shows you the relationship between your family members. Whilst Family Connexions will function similarly to a family tree, it is for living family members and will allow each member of the family to display their contact details. Other family members can have instant access to those details and can contact other members directly.

What can my members expect from my Family Connexions web site?

A central repository for all your families contact info, a profile for each family member, private messaging between members, family forums, view members as a tree or group complete with photos, members individual photo gallery, members file storage and sharing, reminders for birthdays and anniversaries etc, a family event calendar, family anecdotes, private or public member diaries, family story, family chat room, family announcements, members diary and appointment scheduler, family statistics and much, much more...

Family Connexions - About

Hi and welcome to the Family Connexions official web site. My name is Magus Perde and I am the author of Family Connexions. I wrote Family Connexions because of a personal need. With my own family members spread across both the country and the world, keeping in contact with them and sharing all the latest news was difficult.

I decided that, in these days of hi-tech solutions, there must be an easy way of doing it and a web site would be the ideal answer. To my surprise I could find very little that would do this and most of the handful of scripts that were available were poorly written or had very few of the features I wanted to see and use. As a web designer and coder I decided the only option was to write my own and include the features I felt a script like this required and deserved.

After coding for three months, I finally had exactly what I wanted and more. As people saw and used the site, I was surprised at how much they enjoyed it and my own site is like a train station at rush hour! Eventually, it was suggested that I should make it available for others and Family Connexions is the result. I now have an ongoing commitment to continue developing the script. Already the most comprehensive and complete family contact script available, I want Family Connexions to stay that way. If you haven't yet tried the demo please do... I know you'll be impressed!

What do I need to run Family Connexions?

The requirements for running Family Connexions are very straightforward. All you need is some web space that will run PHP, a single MySql database and the ability to change some permissions (chmod).

How do I set up family Connexions?

Setting up is a breeze with the inbuilt installer. The installer will do all the work for you and it is fully automated. If you're not too sure about setting up, I am so confident that you won't have a problem that, if you do, I'll set it up for free on your behalf!

Where can I find out more about Family Connexions?
