What is Family Connexions?

Family Connexions is a web script designed to act as a central point of contact for your family members. Uploading the script to your webspace will give your family a dedicated contact site.

Is it a family tree?

Not quite. A family tree records your families history and shows the relationship between your family members. Whilst Family Connexions will function similarly to a family tree, it is for living family members and will allow each member of the family to display their contact details. Other family members can have instant access to those details and can contact other members directly.

What can my members expect from my Family Connexions web site?

A central repository for all your families contact info, a profile for each family member, private messaging between members, family forums, view members as a tree or group complete with photos, members individual photo gallery, members file storage and sharing, reminders for birthdays and anniversaries etc, a family event calendar, family anecdotes, private or public member diaries, family story, family chat room, family announcements, members diary and appointment scheduler, family statistics and much, much more...

Privacy Policy

My privacy policy is simple and straightforward. At no time does this site collect any information about you. Your visit to this site is entirely anonymous and without risk to your personal information.

The only time I will collect any data is if you use the contact form or add yourself to the newsletter and then all I will ask for is your email address and nothing else. I am committed to making sure your data remains secure. At no time will I make your data available to any third party for any reason whatsoever.

Your data will be held by me so long as there is a need to keep it. This means that as long as you remain subscribed to the newsletter, I will keep your email address stored. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, your email address is automatically removed from storage and deleted. No copies are kept.

If you use the contact form, the email address you send is ephemeral, i.e. exists only whilst the contact message is in transit. Once it has arrived at its' destination it is lost and not stored.

Your Rights - The Data Protection Act 1998
The Data Protection Act 1998 provides you with rights in relation to the personal data I may hold about you, namely;
· be provided with a copy of your personal data that I process and information concerning the processing.
· prevent processing likely to cause damage or distress.
· prevent processing for the purposes of direct marketing.
· take action to rectify, block, erase or destroy inaccurate data.
You are entitled to a copy of any data I store on you within 40 days of making a written request. Requests must contain the information required to satisfy me as to the identity of the person making the request. Requests must contain the information required to enable me to locate the information which is being sought.

What do I need to run Family Connexions?

The requirements for running Family Connexions are very straightforward. All you need is some web space that will run PHP, a single MySql database and the ability to change some permissions (chmod).

How do I set up family Connexions?

Setting up is a breeze with the inbuilt installer. The installer will do all the work for you and it is fully automated. If you're not too sure about setting up, I am so confident that you won't have a problem that, if you do, I'll set it up for free on your behalf!

Where can I find out more about Family Connexions?

The best idea is to see a demonstration of the script in action - you can do that by clicking on demo in the menu.

Can I get regular updates on Family Connexions?

Of course! Click on the newsletter link. You can unsubscribe at any time and I have a strict privacy policy in place.
